Portrait of Dr. Rich

Dr. Jonathan Rich has been in practice for over a decade. In 2000, while working as Chief Resident at St. John-Detroit Riverview Hospital he became interested in community care. As a recipient of a National Health Service Corps Scholarship, he was able to pursue these interests in rural North Carolina, where he provided health care to underserved communities and worked with local leaders on health education outreach, covering issues ranging from obesity and diabetes to HIV/AIDS.

Since relocating to Baltimore in 2005 he has been active in the teaching program at Mercy Medical Center, where he instructs University of Maryland medical students, interns and residents. In addition to this he participates in community health fairs, is the acting Medical Director for Caring Hands Adult Medical Day Care center in Dundalk and is a frequent contributor to “The Women’s Doctor” on WBAL, NBC 11.

Outside of work you will most likely find him spending time with his family, running, biking or reading a good book.
